Sample Assessment Strategies

Learner will be able to work with diverse populations.

Ninety-five percent of employers responding to the Employer Satisfaction Survey will indicate that the graduate works effectively with diverse populations.

Graduates of the Criminal Justice Program will be technically proficient.

Learners will prepare a case file for prosecution of a mock investigation of a crime in the Capstone course______ and 90% of those evaluated by the program faculty will be judged acceptable.

Learners in the Interior Design Program will utilize elements and principles of design in both two- and three-dimensional applications.

Ninety percent of the portfolios reviewed will meet the criteria for application of two- and three-dimensional design application.

Learners in the Nursing Program will demonstrate proficiency in nursing skills and procedures and will use the nursing process in the delivery of safe patient care.

Ninety percent of the learners will be able to demonstrate with 77% accuracy, the ability to perform appropriate nursing skills, procedures and care as evaluated by the program faculty in the Capstone course______.

Graduates of the Information Technology Programming track will be technically proficient.

By the end of their Capstone course, ______, 80% of the graduates will be able to design, code and test ___programs using ________programming techniques within a given period of time as evaluated by the Programming faculty.

Graduates of the Accounting program will demonstrate proficiency in the major subject area.

Their supervising employer will evaluate One hundred percent of the accounting internship students as above average.

Graduates of the Marketing/Retailing program will be technically proficient.

At the close of their final term, 80% of the graduates will be able to identify problems and opportunities and construct good decisions within a given period of time in case studies and computer simulations prepared or “as directed” by the Marketing/Retailing program faculty in the Capstone course, Retail Merchandising Management.

Graduates of the Fire Protection Technology program will be technically proficient in the inspection and maintenance of building fire protection systems.

At the close of their final term, 90% of the students will be able to inspect and evaluate fire protection systems as assigned by the instructor and make practical recommendations on their effectiveness, safety, and quality within a given period of time as evaluated by the Fire Protection program faculty in the Capstone course, Inspection Principles and Practices.
