The Program Effectiveness Process (PEP)

Step IV B: Program and Learner Outcomes
Back to 'Workshop Outline'/ Next

Brainstorm & Prioritize Outcomes

  1. Each member of your unit team should take a few yellow stick-it notes. On each stick-it note, write a program goal or learner outcome you feel your program should be able to achieve.

  2. Have one person collect all of the stick it notes and write the outcomes and goals up on a board or overhead.

  3. Eliminate redundancy by combining multiple outcomes and goals into one outcome when appropriate.

  4. Check to see if there are any program goals that could be written as learner outcomes.

  5. As a unit team, prioritize the outcomes and goals you have listed. Choose 3-5 outcomes and/or goals to focus on for the next year. Write these outcomes and/or goals in the appropriate boxes on PEP form A.
