Sign up for a FICS account
- If you do not already have a FICS account, you will need to register for a new FICS account. It takes awhile to register, so be sure to register well in advance of your scheduled games.
- After registration, you will receive a new password via email. It is a good idea to change your password to something that you can remember. To change your password, use the following command:
password <old> <new>.
- If you lost your password, you can have it reset by sending an email to
support@freechess.org
Setting up FICS to play ICCL games
To play ICCL games, use either Jin, a webbrowser for FICS, or Babaschess.
Unless you are comfortable with the FICS command interface, we are recommending the use of Babaschess.
