Overview:
- Weekly team games are coordinated for the Fall, Winter,
and Spring semesters.
- During official tournaments sponsored by the USCF College Chess Committee, teams are required to meet together in a campus computer lab for games. However, there will be relaxed rules tournaments where you can self schedule.
- Games are played mainly on an honor system, with team captains ensuring that the rules are enforced.
- No outside help is allowed from opening books, fellow players, or computers. The team captains must ensure that these rules are followed.

- Other than positive publicity, no prizes will be rewarded.
It’s all for fun!
- All work done is strictly volunteer. No one will profit
from this league.
Game Format:
- All official games are held on FICS (freechess.org) or on internet chess club (ICC).
There may be special summer events held on other servers.
- Colors are decided by the CCL tournament directors beforehand.
- For most tournaments, recommended time controls are 90 minutes/game + 30 second
increment.
- Time controls can be shortened for the whole team if both
sides agree, but must be reasonable and not blitz. Game
length shouldn’t increase.
- Board order is decided by club team ladder. If none exists,
then by USCF rating. However, it is strongly encouraged
to have a club ladder to promote competition within the
clubs, but it is not required.
- Ladder position shifts based on team policy.
